Business Manager

Mrs. Mayer is a California native who graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Masters in Family Environmental Sciences from California State University, Northridge.  She has had a career that has involved bank auditing and accounting, consumer education/finances, elementary teaching, school administration and reading intervention.  She is happiest in the school setting and excited to be the new Business Manager at N.E.W. Academy Canoga Park.

Mrs. Mayer has two adult children and enjoys going to museums, concerts, traveling to domestic and foreign places,  wine tasting, and cooking with her husband.  She is an avid jazz fan and loves to craft.

 

Patrica McBride
Administrative Assistant


Ms. McBride was born and raised in Germany and graduated in 2007 with a degree in business management and accounting. She majored in Business, English and Business Administration. She moved to the United States in 2009.

Patricia loves animals, hiking and being active in general. She also enjoys photography. She enjoys cuisine and experiencing new food from all over the world. She travels extensively and the most beautiful place she has been to was Egypt.

 

Vanessa Garcia
Parent Coordinator

Ms. Vanessa Garcia is a bilingual parent born and raised in California with a multicultural background. She enjoys performing arts and has received Play Production recognition. She began volunteering for elementary schools throughout the community in 2014.

 

 

Melanie Garcia
Parent Coordinator

Melanie was born in Colombia and raised in Mexico City.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Lincoln Christian University.  Melanie lived in Chicago for several years, where she worked as a first-grade Dual Language teacher and Dual Language program coordinator.  In 2011, Melanie and her husband, Emmanuel, moved to the San Fernando Valley to be part of a team tasked with starting a church and non-profit organization called Living Stones/Piedras Vivas.  She and her family are deeply committed to Canoga Park and to the mission of empowering underserved communities.  Melanie is the mother of 3 NACP students….Isabella, Elias & Lucas.

When she’s not working, you can find Melanie and her husband watching their kids play soccer, basketball, baseball at Lanark Park, eating paletas at La Michoacana and spending time with their amazing extended family at Living Stones/Piedas Vivas.
