Visual Arts, Performance, and Music

The Arts are essential to the development of the whole child.

Visual arts, performing arts, and music are practical mediums for learning the importance of self-discipline, teamwork and imagination. Our students express themselves artistically, take ownership of their space, and learn presentation skills by interacting with a supportive audience. N.E.W. Academy Canoga Park proudly provides access to highly qualified art instruction for our students to enhance their creativity, practical skills, and knowledge of art history. Art instruction programming occurs throughout the school year embedded into student’s curriculum, including field trip opportunities during after school programs to the local Canoga Park Arts Center.

NACP offers after school programming by working artists through the Artists-in-Classroom (AIC) program in conjunction with the Angels Gate Cultural Center. These residencies are designed to promote creativity, strengthen cross-disciplinary knowledge, and familiarize our students with cutting-edge visual and performing arts practices.
