When New Economics for Women decided to open a school, they envisioned a self-governed and inclusive environment. That’s why we’re a charter school, which means that LAUSD has granted us the right to govern ourselves.

We have autonomy over who we hire, what type of programs we offer, and how we develop strategies to support our students. We pride ourselves in creating a community of staff and administrators who reflect the values of the families we serve. Many of our educators grew up in these neighborhoods and understand their valuable knowledge and wisdom. Schools across the U.S. are struggling with equity, diversity, and inclusion, but we were founded on these values and we continue to lead the way.
